My role is the Anaemia Specialist Nurse.

My role involves looking after patients with Renal Anaemia requiring EPO injections and iron infusions.

​

My patient group includes pre-dialysis patients, transplant patients and dialysis patients.

​

I provide specialist knowledge and expertise in the care and management with patients with renal anaemia.

​

I educate patients regards why they are anaemic and how we are going to treat this.

​

I assess and review blood results and make adjustments to treatment as and when needed.

​

I teach the pre-dialysis patients how to self-administer the EPO injections and what aftercare is required.

​

I liaise with the medical team when and if a patient needs an iron infusion.
