There are several types of nephrology (kidney) clinics, which generally run daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Clinics are usually led by a consultant nephrologist (kidney doctor), with support from a registrar or clinical assistant, and a team of specialist nurses.

Types of Clinics:

  • General Nephrology Clinic
For patients referred to a nephrologist to manage their kidney health.

  • Low Clearance Clinic (Pre-Dialysis Clinic)
For patients with advanced kidney disease who may soon need dialysis or a kidney transplant.

  • Dialysis Clinics

    • Haemodialysis clinic: for patients receiving haemodialysis

    • Peritoneal dialysis clinic: for patients receiving peritoneal dialysis

  • Transplant Clinics

    • Post-transplant clinic: for patients who have received a kidney transplant

    • Pre-transplant clinic: run by transplant surgeons for patients preparing to receive a kidney
